FAQ

The salt gun

What is a salt gun?

A spring- or pump-powered gun that fires a small spread of table salt instead of pellets. It’s made for knocking flies and small insects out of the air at close range.

Does it really kill flies?

Up close, yes: the force of the salt does the work. Read how salt guns work on flies.

What salt do I use?

Ordinary fine table salt. Keep it dry; damp or coarse salt can clog the hopper.

What’s the difference between the two models?

Both are the same 2.0 salt gun. The aiming version adds an under-barrel laser to help you place each shot.

How far does it shoot?

[Effective range from your supplier’s tested specs.] It works best up close.

Does the laser need batteries?

[Battery type and whether they’re included, from your supplier.] The gun itself is pump-powered.
